So I’ve picked up some cheap braid as the options were $50 plus. Just curious as the what the difference in price reflects? Like surely 50lb braid is 50lb braid. Thanks.

Sorry, but I have not made any study of the differences. Just Sayin...RJS
The higher priced stuff has more coating on it. Spider Wire more than the others. In Salt Water the coating comes off the line. The cheaper stuff, which I buy now, has less coating. Power Pro is not as bad a Spider Wire for the amount of coating. I had to use my Demerol wire brush to clean the bail roller after using Spider Wire. So of my fishing friends said that Spider Wire also cut into the eyelets on their rods. I didn't have that. I buy 4 strand Braid now from China. I can wait a month for it to come in. Last time I bought it, 500 Meters for about $15.
Yeah, I am cheap. LOL
I'm not paying $50 for braid. Plenty of quality braid out there that's cheaper. Question should have stated what size spool.

I just received 1000 meters from China for $20.24 with free shipping !
20 lb. test ! I bought Flo. Orange this time, been using white and Flo. pink for several years , no fuzzying up and casts well .
On my charter boat I used 70 lb, braid for all types of fishing. With 20 -24 reels to spool I could not afford the $65, plus price for 300 yards of Power Pro or Spider Wire. I buy dyneema brand braid off of E-Bay. Can be bought in all different colors and spool size. It has a coating on it as well, that did not last long in the salty water of S.F. bay. I like to mix up the color line on my reels, makes un-tangling easier.
Is there a link to these Chinese braids? I presume you use ali express

I would go on E-Bay and search braid fishing lines. Pages and pages will come up. Quite a few are the same just color differences. Never had any problem with shipping or delivery. I just looked on Amazon. They have a brand called RUNCL PowerBraid. It comes in all different diameters and spool size. For comparison a 1000 yd spool of 60 Lb, is $36.88. That is a very good price. I believe that is cheaper than the Dyneema I was buying on E-Bay, and a much quicker delivery.

I think it's a lot cheaper using ali express. Eg this one is about 17 dollars for 1000yds of braid

Gmjh,
Thanks for the tip. I have never even heard of ali express, but then again I don't get out much!
Fitzgerald Vursa is aged longer is black in color out of the package so you don't have to take a black marker to the last four feet when flipping . Most of the others are green in color. The coating makes a difference. Many braids start turning white in color due coating issue. Then you got to break out a marker.
Of course the issue we are all beating around the bush is that the expensive lines are USA manufactured and the cheaper lines are mostly foreign made. I have always been a supporter of "buy American". But when it came to my charter business the luxury of buying American was over ridden by having to make a profit. In my opinion the foreign line is just as good a quality as the USA made line. I knew of two party boats that would replace Power Pro line once a year. My Dyneema line would last 3 times as long and was replaced basically due to the fading.
I think for the recreational fisherman braid vs. mono is a no brainer. The additional cost of braid is worth the much longer life.
What site did you buy it from that offers free? Thanks
I was surprised at all the go cheap responses. I have found a great deal of difference in braids. I now use Sufix 832 neon lime on all my braid reels. The cost difference over three years of use is negligible when given the overall cost of fishing, I now spend more than the cost difference on a day trip for gas price increase alone. ( I still use power pro on the 100 lb. test rod)
