Obama is living proof of that (the rich politicians) He screwed our country over for 8 years, took his family on lavish vacations on our dime and is now living in a 15 million dollar mansion we paid for and a $400,000.00 retirement check annually. I guess I shouldn’t complain. I get $13,000.00 a year social security after paying into it for 50 years.👍

Security for life. The best healthcare free. And… probably t***sportation to government special events, funerals, inaugurations etc.

Can't comment on this. I'd go straight to the attic, probably for life.

I still say politicians should have a 2 term limit and have to fund their own retirement like the rest of us. Including health care.

I would rather cap e******n spending. Let the v**ers decide to send them home. But limit how much they can spend on lies and grandiosity. Maybe max $100. Really a couple 100k should be plenty. We don’t need 18 months of e******n advertising. Caps could solve a lot of problems.

Posed this question in another forum, It's a little off base here but am interested if anyone has an Idea. I am having a hard time convincing myself the real drive to go electric in autos. If electric is truely the near future why is oil and it's by-products so expensive current? What are they planning on doing with all that extra oil in the future? Build battery boxes?

i honestly believe the biggest problem are improperly informed v**ers; not UNinformed v**ers. where do do you go for REAL honest info on candidates. no simple answer to that question. the media is a tangled web of t***h and lies.

btw; why did i like trump? simple answer; not one of THEM

Oil is expensive now because "they" want to make it as exspensive as possible so electric cars will be more attractive to more people. It is all about pushing an agenda. If it were really about afortable and reliable "g***n e****y" then they would be producing and selling either natural gas or hydrogen cars and puting in the infrastructure that is needed for that.

That's right why I'm spinning. Agendas! and we just keep taking it where the Preperation H belongs. ( Borrowed that from another post)
What happened to Hydrogen power?

That’s the problem the only drive behind electric cars is the government and the Mfg. of them. Electric cars will require burning more oil. The efficiency loss of providing electricity to charge batteries on the grid will require more oil to produce the same amount of miles driven. The only oil saved will be lubricating oil, maybe. Since there is a lot of energy needed to make the batteries themselves. Hacksaw’s original post touches on these issues. I cannot participate in that post anymore. I opened this conversation here in the attic because honest discussion of this topic cannot take place elsewhere on the stage. Check first post if you missed that.

Back to your question. Why? Yes, why would you want to. Okay, maybe one car in the garage electric. They are cool, quiet, low maintenance, don’t need gas. But for everyone and no gas cars are you kidding me. Your only vehicle goes 300 miles if you are careful on the electric pedal. Then you have to be at a place to recharge that matches your car plug or have an adapter that matches. Then you wait to recharge. 30 minutes or 2 hours what? Then and only if there is an outlet available. Because someone else might be charging for 30 minutes or 2 hours.

I don’t even know what to call people that believe this makes sense. It seems that the democrats in the family are the ones that get upset when I try to point out reality. They say I’m just being negative, but they can’t give one possible description of a solution or explanation of how this can work and neither is the government. I’ll be dead and gone and never see it not happen.

Wow. This topic fires me up.

its ok to get fired up and get the hesrt beat up that way you dont have to go walk a couple miles to get the same beniifit unless you get an electric car that runs out of charge before you get home

My biggest problem with the idea of the government mandating electric only is my own fault. I have an affliction, I suffer from BULL$--T INTOLERANCE!

The solution is in the careful manipulation of all technologies. Not government over regulation. For instance. Huge solar farms absorb sunlight to turn it into energy. Normally that sunlight is absorbed into surfaces and reflected back into the atmosphere. Once it is captured it will eventually be released as heat. All energy ends up as heat. The more efficient the solar farm is there is a chance solar farms are adding to g****l w*****g by capturing more heat than is reflected out. I don’t have the math on this, but the physics of the issue can’t be ignored.

In my opinion using oil as efficient as possible, hybrid systems help, and planting a lot of trees. Keep construction confined as much as possible to the current footprint that exists and reclaim were able. Use of high tech concretes that are less harmful. Instead of landfills turn trash into energy, gas production, fermentation, and burning. If the government wants to help provide support to start up businesses that make sense. Just a little help. If the idea works market forces will kick in.

Example. Styrofoam. The h**ed material. Curbside recycling doesn’t want it. What keeps your coffee hot, your soda cold, your carry out food safe for the ride home. Styrofoam is very recyclable. But it is dirty after use. No one recycles it. Darn shame. Foam cup companies have tried but it hasn’t worked out yet. I guess the foam cup lobby couldn’t get a billion dollar gift. Seems the government is against foam cups, straws, and plastic spoons.

Rant over for now. Get fired up.

👍. My reason exactly. Something different than the normal crap we were seeing and voila he was better.🤔
