Here I am. Seems political comment even if even handed to both sides is not approved. So I invite anyone who wants to continue here no matter what you think.

My problem post:

Your post inside topic "Electric Cars And What It takes To Power Them" was deleted.

Action comment: no politics outside of the attic, repeated warnings/deletions will lead to account suspension

Will there be a bus to your favorite fishing spot in the California of the future? Will we all be using inflatable electric boats? When are we going to elect smart people? By the time I v**e it’s a choice of two i***ts. Are the stairs to the attic clear? Don’t want to trip over Ben’s fishing gear.

No offense intended to Ben. I know he has more toys than me. Needed to rhyme clear and gear.

I was going to post this on the original topic but can’t so here it is.

To the posts about liking batteries and expecting that to save the world. Please reread the whole original post on this topic. Batteries are just buckets to hold energy produced from f****l f**ls, wind, and solar. All with their own disadvantages.

When electric cars came out and private rides to space I immediately thought of 'The Jetsons' and wondered when there would be traffic jams overhead in the near future. Lmbo. Me, I still depend on f****l f**ls.

For the choice between 2 I***ts:
Either v**e for what looks like the lesser of 2 Evils.
Or as my Dad said," V**e against all Incombents. That way when they learn how to steal and get away with it, they are out of office".
Now that said, I still believe that the main push for Electric cars is political and really dumb at this time.
1) I feel the power grids are not going to support the increased demand of all houses having a charger with an electric car plugged in. It seems that almost every summer California has "Rolling Blackouts". That is from the AC units being run IMO.
2) "Greenies" don't care about the people and Politicians Don't care about V**ers until re-e******n, just thier wallets.
3) The electric cars at this time are saying 300 miles on a charge. That says to me that you are NOT supposed to go farther than 150 Miles from your home, unless you "Know" that there is a charging Station for your car at the other end of your journey. To me that is population control. IE "Keep them in the cites".
4) How about farmers? Is John Deer going to all electric? I don't think so.
5) Back to the Power Grids and suppliers/power companies. How many days in last year's Winter did Texas homes NOT have power? A week for some?
You can say, "Well they did not expect it." Wrong! It had happened 10 years before with the same Electric Company. The Electric company was supposed to have fixed the equipment so it would not happen again. They didn't. Why? Money! IMO Again IMO Politicians Yell, beat their chests, and pass laws so that they look good to the v**ers, but pocket the money from the business and look the other way. Again that is my opinion.
So unless the compliant v**ers in the US raise up and V**E against All Incumbents, and scare the Heck out of all the new politicians nothing is going to change for the US Public.
Example, The state of NJ did NOT have a State Income Tax. It did have almost the highest Property taxes though.
So the State Politicians started a campian to make a State Income tax for "Better Schools", Ect.
The Public screamed "NO". All the members of the House and Senate Said they would NOT v**e for it. The Governor of NJ at the time swore that he would Veto it if passed.
Well the House v**ed for for it.
The Senate passed it.
The Governor signed it.
The public was totally mad about it. For the next 6 years anyone that had been in office when the bill was passed was v**ed out. Didn't matter if they v**ed for or against the Bill. The Politicians were amazed! The Vorters remembered for 6 years that they had been shafted by them.
Now when I was living in Texas, no State Income Tax, Lawmakers would say, "Lets pass a State income Tax".
And someone would then say, "Look what happened in New Jersey!" Then the idea would be dropped.
Politicians only care about keeping their office and the money they can get out of it. IMO
Glad this is in the Attic. LOL

It seems to be very fashionable these days for the politicians in D.C. to demonize wealthy people for "not paying their fair share". 'Scuse me, but how many senators and representatives aren't rich? By the time they've been re-elected once or twice, they're all gazillionaires!

Darned if I'm going to demonize rich people. Wouldn't I like to be one of them?

you are right and a lot of those who buy electric cars don't need the subsidies to start with. the t***h is subsidies is the government takeing money from those who can't afford the electric car even if they wanted it and giving it to someone who could afford an electric car. it is sort of a reverse robin hood where they take from the poor to give to the rich. and the one who gets even richer are the car manufacture who make the electric car and often it is a form of political pay back for their support.

try this again I hit the wrong button not sure it went through but Jwid just post your posts in the actic to start with. The attic is the place where a mixture of free thinkers and ideologues hang out and have some interresting discussions and also some that aren't . I don't know why so many are "offended" by any discussion or views they don't share, I think it is a form of insecurity and they would rather be offended than enlighted or challenged or let others talk about things they don't want to. So keep your "political" posts comeing and will look forward to reading them in the attic.

Thanks for joining me here. What’s needed to be said will here. There is no way that an all electric America can survive any better than the status quo. The only gain will be the politicians paid off by the electric companies and the electricity providers.

Unless a clean sustainable energy source provides electricity on a grid that can handle ten times the capacity and hardened against all mother nature and foreign governments can throw at it. Still there would be the damage caused by all the batteries made and discarded.

I just organized a tire clean up at my lake. 60 acres. Collected 415 tires while the lake was lowered. Thats 6 tons of tires. What’s going to happen if there isn’t battery recycling readily available or if you have pay to dispose of batteries.

These considerations are why I call politicians i***ts. Both sides. All of them.

If the product receiving the subsidy was a good enough product then subsidy wouldn’t be needed. All they do is take money from everyone, our tax money, and give it to people who do what government wants. Which is buy a product which benefits an industry. Indirectly it is a pay off to corporations for political donation or call them what they are, bribes to politicians.

Politicians are fattening there wallets off of investments into the manufacturer of the main component for these batteries. They placed large sums of money into stocks of the hugest producer! Something the huge majority of us was unaware of!

Our leaders outlawed 'insider trading' because they wanted it all for themselves!

Yes. Insider trading is only illegal for the rest of us. They can give subsidies to a corporation, approve a highway intersection, change regulations and buy or sell the stock they own as the walk out of a meeting. We know who they is.

Obama is living proof of that (the rich politicians) He screwed our country over for 8 years, took his family on lavish vacations on our dime and is now living in a 15 million dollar mansion we paid for and a $400,000.00 retirement check annually. I guess I shouldn’t complain. I get $13,000.00 a year social security after paying into it for 50 years.👍
