I too converted. Took off the 6 and put 10# braid, with no memory, the braid will spool up any way you want. With my little 1000 reel, thinking of putting the smallest line I can, that might be 6# which will be thinner than a blond hair divided by three.

Harris I got a spool of 5lb power pro braid a couple weeks ago.

Best knot for braid to monogram is the yucatan knot. Just download the animated knots app. It does cost a dollar but well worth it.

I use a uni to uni and have no problems also YouTube has hundreds of videos on fishing KNOTS and they're FREEπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŽ£πŸ˜€πŸ‘

Henry, i tried various brands and for some reason the Fireline worked the best. Just did not like the performance of other brands. Maybe it was my rod guides or the way it came off the Penn reels. Every rod and reel responds differently to the line used.

Bottom line ( no pun intended ) is to purchase a small spool before getting that 300 or 1000 yard spool and give it a try.

Thanks Plumbob I figured I'd give the Crystal a shot for the spinning rod I use PowerPro on the baitcasters and haven't had any problems with it one other question the is Fireline about the same diameter as braid?πŸ˜€πŸ‘

Henry. Fire line works for everything. I use Chrystal in summer because it floats and easy to see smoke color for ice fishing to see on snow on jigging rods

Thanks Help I'm going to give it a tryπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ˜€πŸ‘is the diameter like braid?

Maybe so Henry. Here is a little blurp from the all knowing internet. Even the pic on it says braid.

Fireline Braid is totally different. It's a conventional braided line where the individual strands that make up the line are weaved together to form the line. Same process for Power Pro, Suffix, TOW and other braided lines. The Fireline moniker is what Berkley has used to promote it's superlines, whether they are fused or braided lines.

I just put it on a new spinning reel, President and I find it's a little noisy but haven't had any bird nests yet.
