Ran across another fish story I thought you fellows would enjoy. If I caught 3 Bass that added up to the weight of one of these guys it would be my best day ever, by far!!

I want to call attention to something written in the article about the big bass. Both of these big girls were caught on umbrella rigs. Those big girls got that big because they are older, supposedly smarter. I believe all of us older stagers know what those rigs are. You younger/ new folks may not. I won’t get into a long description , you guys can look it up yourselves. I just want to call attention to what these things are made of. Which is usually stainless steel wire, a plastic “ head” ( where the wires join) and snap swivels. You add your own jig heads/ baits. All of this hardware is very visible underwater, but these things catch fish, big fish, all the time, including the older, smarter ones. So keep that in mind when you fret about whether your red or green monofilament , or 30 # braid is visible underwater, requiring you to use an invisible fluorocarbon leader because you don’t want the fish to see your main line. It does not matter. If bass are hungry , and they see something that looks remotely edible, they will try to eat it.....My 2cents....

You're 100%correct Chuck, with one disclaimer. The reason they'll attack an Alabama rig, is it represents a school of fish. The opportunity of a LARGE meal makes them throw caution to the wind. , versus a suspicious looking tidbit. MPO.

I'd rather catch smaller bass. I can't stand chucking and winding an A-rig but, that's just me.

A few years back I was trolling for Kokanee and I got snagged. So I stopped the boat and fought this snag and when it broke loose I could tell I was dragging something. Turns out I had snagged onto a Alabama rig that had gotten snagged and broke off from somebody else. It only had a couple oh jigs on it…🐟on

What planet are they on? That’s crazy big. Do they have steroid runoff from a sports center in the water?

Yes we’ve said that many times and still do. God has been good to us. We’ve never blamed God for our son’s death. It was our son’s fault. Two people in the other car died too. He fell asleep while driving on his way home. After he died his friends told us he fell asleep driving a lot. We’re like, why haven’t y’all told us about that? We had no clue. He was 20 years old.
