But did you stop by the fish market to take one home? This would help covence your queen you really were fishing!

We have tidal waters here in Washington DC.
We set up for catfishing then we break out the snacks and wait.

The bite turns on really well for 45 minutes, then dies down. At that point we pack it in and go home. We've patterned the bite that well.

Just keep in mind the conditions were for next time.

The 7 inch screen is definitely the way to go. I got a 5 inch screen, wish it was larger, my eyes aren't young anymore.

I guess you must've gotten them all on your previous trips. None left?

Actually, if you haven't been skunked, you haven't fished much!

Well guys. Today Ben and I went to the Petaluma striper fishin. Got there bout 0715 and was fishin by 0745.
We fished HARD till nearly 1pm and we NEVER GOT A BITE.
We even went all the way out to San Pablo Bay, where the Pet River dumps into the bay. Nothin.
Trolled and cast lures all over the place and nothing.
It was a very cold start but turned absolutely beautiful bout 1030 on.
Burned a quarter tank of gas in bout 5 1/2 hours. But that's only bout 4 gals.
Ben and I have been fishin together for awhile now and today is the FIRST time we've ever been skunked.
That's winter fishin for ya.
Oh well. Was a nice day to be out on the water no matter what.

I’d say I’m sorry, but you got out spent time on the water with a friend, got home safe and sound, sounds like a great day to me. Fish are a bonus when you can take the boat out on a day lots of fishermen are stuck home. You’ll slay em again next time and it’ll just be that much sweeter.

Yep! Even if you’re skunked you can enjoy the trip by just being out there. You’ll get em next time Steve.

Hey, even Curry misses an occasional free throw. Don’t worry about the fish finder, sounds like u would have been looking at an empty picture all day and just fished it the same way, by hitting your past hot spots. Sumpin weird going on this winter, big water dump, rec crab season messed up by only using hoops, followed by the pros hangin it up after the New Year. Bet we are gonna need to be creative the rest of the year. Keep on keeping on, my boat is still in winter treatment at Gone Fishin, so still waiting to get back out there. D

You are a good man to admit it and post,
Lol. Thanks for sharing the day though. Yeah I would take winter fishing on soft
water vs. over ice any day!
