Well guys. Today Ben and I went to the Petaluma striper fishin. Got there bout 0715 and was fishin by 0745.
We fished HARD till nearly 1pm and we NEVER GOT A BITE.
We even went all the way out to San Pablo Bay, where the Pet River dumps into the bay. Nothin.
Trolled and cast lures all over the place and nothing.
It was a very cold start but turned absolutely beautiful bout 1030 on.
Burned a quarter tank of gas in bout 5 1/2 hours. But that's only bout 4 gals.
Ben and I have been fishin together for awhile now and today is the FIRST time we've ever been skunked.
That's winter fishin for ya.
Oh well. Was a nice day to be out on the water no matter what.

Welcome to our world Steve.I would happily trade a day riding around in the boat, for tomorrow's 12° high temperature, with -20° wind chill. Hopefully the 36hr prediction for the arctic blast is correct, and it's over Wednesday.

Yup

Saw. From your posts on the past. I thought you may have been super human.
Bad days happen.
I just didn’t think there would be so many for me.
At least you got out
Best part of my day was my heated seats on the truck!!

Suppose to have been good fishin from bout 0630 to 0830 and it was an out goin tide today so it should have been ok. I just don't know if there were any fish in the river today.
Course, every time we kill them for a short period of time and they quit bitin, we always say, "If we hadn't been here when the fish were bitin like that you'd think there wasn't a fish in the river." When they shut down, they shut down. One min you're catchin one on nearly ever cast and then they vanish. Don't know where they go or what happens. Really strange.

Steve, Sorry to hear about the skunk, but as you know, it happens. To some of us, it's quite frequent! But at least you had good company, nice weather, and the boat and you made it back safely. All good. Take care.

Well Saw,, at least you got to go fishing. That's a plus. I called my boat dealer this morning & they haven't even started replacing my windshield. It's 56 degrees & sunny out so I would be pestering the smallmouth or throwing out some jug lines for catfish. Boat has been sitting there a month & a half. The dealer said they had 2 mechanics out with covid & the 3rd one was run over by a car & is laid up with multiple fractures. That may be true but if something isn't done soon the dealer is going to have a knot on his head.

I love my new Garmin and it is pretty easy to use model ECOMAP UHD 73CV + TRANSDUCER
It is all touch tone.
I have the 7" screen the clarity is very good.
Wanted the larger screen but that is when the price goes out of my price range to just afly it.
Take a look at them !!
Sorry for the slow day!!
Won't be getting my boat out until duck season is over. 3 more weeks left !!
Have agreat year fishing.
And next year I would still like to take you Duck Hunting.
And have have safe trip on the water.
Andy
