This is an old topic. Look, it doesn't matter when you get your license, it's good for a year, whether you get it from Jan 1 to Dec 31 all the months of a year are covered, the same is true if you get it on July 31 to June 1st, it's a year, all the months are covered no matter when you get it, you're just arguing over semantics.

It doesn’t matter that it’s an old topic. If someone is reading it for the first time, it’s a new topic. I would suggest that if you don’t like old topics, don’t read them. There’s a lot of “old” topics on here…🐟on

Not in california until this year. Last year (2020) if you bought you license on December 31st, it was no good on Jan 1 2021. Didn't matter when you bought it, it expired on the 1st day of new year. So no, it ain't an old topic in this state.

My point exactly. Thank you Spirito27

Old is good. A lot of us here are OLD so OLD is cool.

My best buddy has a license plate frame on his truck that says “ Old Guys Rule”.

So yeah something old to one person could be NEW to someone else for sure.

I wish Oregon would go to what Golden State did. I many times don’t get license until spring. I use to get it with Xmas gift certificates but now that it will be few Benjamins there isn’t any gift certificates to pay for it. In Oregon Disability Military Vets get free license.

I turned 70 last December, this year I paid $11 with a 2 pole endorsement. It’s great to be old…🐟on

I'll be 65 in December, I'll never pay for a license again, unless I want a Trout stamp, for $5. I'll probably get one just in case.

Until that kid grows up and moves to a different state. He could still use it if he visits here I guess.
Just a thought.

Yeah Dave, haven't checked out down there yet. It'll probably be a year before I get there.

It would be Spirit but you have to be 65 to qualify. Darn it. We trade our broken bodies for cheaper licenses lol. Better than nothing 👍

Not in California Grizz. They don't give a crap for old folks. You been paying taxes for the privilege of living here since you was a babe? Well, pay some more. I pay same rate as a 17 year old. I am 73 and retired USN. So what? says Uncle Gavin. And Jerry. And Arnold. And Pete and Ronnie.

Hay all, though this may come to you as a surprise, some of us miss a few days reading these posts now and then. A repost or repeated posts is not all bad. This sight is full of information from reposts or just the same posts and questions with different wording. I did not know sharing and helping others was a competition.

Now the state has to work on getting the price lowered, the cost is what I pay for non-resident in most states. The last 3 increases (costs) showed me less of what we are paying for.
