How do I identify some good saltwater fishing spots?

Structure such as pier, docks and moving water. Remember fish are ambush predators
The obvious is look for birds and busting water. Less obvious, look at wave action, indicate sandbars and bowls where water channels out. Look for boulder fields, even at low tide if there ai a few feet of water they are lying in wait. Good luck, keep casting.

Obtain a real-live navigation chart and study it. Talk to more experienced fishermen... It all depends upon your "Target Species"; as to WHERE and whith what "bait" &/or "Fishing Method"... As well as time of day, may well be a valid consideration; depending upon ¿What do I REALLY want for dinner?
