No stupid questions just some stupid answers. Sometimes we misunderstand the question.
I just unplug mine. I have a 3 bank on board charger on glastron n 2 bank on tracker both trolling motors are 24 volt. 3 bank charges 2 t-motor batts n start batt. Have a single bank with conditioning mode for all single batts. Only kill switch is on main motor on both boats 👍

Very true. We can all learn a thing or two from these “stupid” questions. I know I do but I’m not one who knows everything already. 🤷♂️

I’ve got two 12’s hook parallel and my TM is the only thing connected to them. I can get 12 to 14 hours of trolling time out of them. Bow mounted motor…🐟on
Same here Dozer Dave. My same set up runs my Terrova all day!

If it OFF ( not spinning) it’s OFF. Some electric have a meter that may draw a few milliamps but yeah disconnect one of the leads will open the circuit anyway. It’s a goofy question anyway.
True but I un plug mine just the same.

Anyone run a kill switch on there trolling motor to save battery?
I don't run a kill switch but I do use a battery cutoff switch. I had issues with a new deep cycle battery that kept running low and I put the switch in. It only cost about $6 and actually made hooking up a charger easier. It turned out that it was a problem with the battery and Interstate gave me a new one and everything was cool - but I kept the switch in the circuit. I've grown used to switching it off/on now and it is a layer of protection.

I have a perko seachoice switch. Switches from off to battery one, battery two, or both. It is under the drivers seat. I turn it of every I leave the boat.

If you use a battery with post type connections, there is a device that attaches to the post, and your power cable connects to it. It has a knob that you can rotate CCW to open the circuit to the load ( motor). Bought them for my seasonal cars at a car show. Eliminates parasitic loads and isolates what you want without disconnecting cables. Saw them also at a hardware, type discount store. Under $10. Work good.
