Three times I hooked up with something that took a rapala for a ride. 5 minutes of fight one of the times. Never got to see it. Played the thing, it stripped line, med fast St. Croix bent all the time line tight. Water a bit murky. I got to see the rapala break the surface and pop. The lure was let loose. Lots of swirling water during the fights. No way a catfish could spit the trebles on a new rapala. Maybe it was a huge turtle.
It was fun, but at least I would like a glimpse of the thing.
Biggest thing I hooked up with in this lake.

Hmmmm, you got any other type of biggun's in there? Carp or anything? If not, maybe just a wise old Hawg.

We have big carp, big cats, big turtles and some plus 8 Lmb. But it never broke the surface. Always running deep. Might be something I haven’t heard about.
