The rock drop off is across the lake about 300 feet from my dock. It will still be 13 feet deep and packed with fish. Depending on the lake bed I might be able to walk over there if it dries or freezes. Otherwise, it is quite a hike to get over there. Iโ€™ll be looking for opportunities. Could get interesting.

Jwid that's an awesome shot of the lake, it looks like a painting.

What about a boat or yak? Iโ€™m not understanding why you canโ€™t get over there.

White dot along shoreline is my dock. Mud will be at least a foot deep. I could walk across the dam. Drives Kathy crazy when I do that. I could drive around to the others side of the the lake and hike a very rough half mile. Not impossible, little difficult, but I have been spoiled with easy. I will get some fishing in. Just have to work at it.
Fishing is in the blood as you all know.

Oh yeah, where there's a will there's a way. That's for sure. Just remember a happy wife is a happy life.

I have not been over there by land yet. Just boat over to fish. There are some neighborhood teens from that side of the lake that occasionally hike down there and jump off, swim, fish, have a campfire, and enjoy themselves. Good clean fun no problems.

Yea they look to tempting to not jump. Once upon a time. Not more sense now just out of shape for a jump like that brother ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰

Not young enough for it anymore. I used to dive. Last time was over 30 feet. Went in a little sideways. Neck hurt for two weeks. That made it the last time. Jumping is different. Rather have the thrill of the PB lurking below.

Update:

A week later. Water down 9 feet.

Took a hike through the woods with the set up I was using last weekend. Got over to the dam. 6 bass in about 15 minutes. Two hit right at the bank. No pictures of those two. They had too much fight left in them and wouldnโ€™t pose for pictures. Dropped them in the water.

Miss all the water, but for now the fishing is great.

View of the dam and my new fishing hole.

Lots of mud between my boat and the water.

Nice catching Jwid. Yeah I guess it is down a bit, but you gotta do what you gotta do. You should pickup one of those 6WD amphibious ATVs. Remember them? You could drive out onto the water, fish, then drive back. Thanks for the pictures buddy.

They must been hungry. Looks like a fair sz spinner bait plus a big paddle tail. Nice job Jwid

I might be able to walk out there someday if it gets dry or cold enough. Right now I would have to tie a lifeline to a tree. It was a fun 15 minutes. Trying to stay upright on slippery rocks and mud made 15 minute feel like hours. The shoreline I was standing on had water covering it just a few hours before I got there.

Yeah that fresh mud is like quicksand. Snowshoes maybe?
