Bereavement leave:
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing that you can do for dead friends, relatives, or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend to the arrangements. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.
That Exempt employee stuff is a little tricky. There you are having all the security clearances needed to do top secret work protecting the nation from the worlds worse of the worse criminals un known to the general public.
A 2" blizzard hits the area and traffic is expected to be at a crawl, therefore you are a non exempt employee stay home you will get paid anyway.
As for the exempt employee please arrive in between the core hours of 8 - 8:30 even though it is icy out. Your prudence will be noted.
