You know something Mau, I wasn't there. I don't remember why, but I was out of town for something, and I figured I'd see them on the next tour. That never happened. One of many I wished I'd seen, but didn't.

It was memorable for me. I had my 13 year old son and two nephews with me. We got on the interstate section from i95 ( might have been pre Rt 8) I went around the corner going 65 in my GMC Jimmy and the traffic was at a dead stop. I nailed the brakes and met a Camaros bumper at equal level. That’s how hard I braked.swore for the first time in front of the family. Two young guys got out, stoned and one rubbing his neck. No damage to my truck. Wasn’t sure about the camaro. It had a lot of history already. One of the guys said “ we gotta call the cops man!”
My nephew asked- are you going to Skynrd? They responded yes. Well he answered if you call the cops none of us will see the concert. I offered him 60 bucks which was all I had on me. The stoner in the passenger seat said- take it man we can party! They did. I told my wife who asked “what if they report it now?”
I answered “Same thing that would have happened plus 60 bucks.”
Great show but Skynrd got booed that night. Not because of their performance. They chose to give an anti drug message.
Never did see them again.

Yeah Mau, Ronnie and the rest were more a Wild Turkey /Jack Daniels crew, although I'm sure a couple of them smoked pot. I see how that day is burned in your memory. I don't remember exactly what I was doing, but I think I was up at the Cape. Back then there were so many great concerts in CT, you couldn't go to them all. I probably figured I'd catch them next time around, but never got the chance.

Right! When I had the time I didn’t have the money. I remember catching Whitesnake in New Haven. Willie a few times. Charlie Daniels. Joe Cocker, Ten years after,Doors, mountain. Nirvana, guns and roses. Grateful Dead, lee Michael’s, Blind faith. And the venue at Woodstock. Dam I guess I did catch some music.

Don't even get me started on the money. Mott the Hoople, Queen, and Mahogany Rush @ The Palace Theater, $5.50 for front row balcony seats. We thought that was a little pricey, but we went anyway,LOL.

I'm a Dunkin Donuts guy myself, but Cumbies $.99 coffees are good too.

I've heard if you go to Starbucks with your college degree and give them $10, they'll sell you a cup of coffee.

I don't care for their products anyway.

Forgot about mahogany rush. Jealous about Queen. I heard the movie was good. Haven’t checked it out.

Yeah, it was the Queen ll tour, with all the regalia, Freddy in a velvet robe, a crown on his head and a scepter in his hands. It was awesome, especially the harmonies of all the guys. Saw them several times after that, including the Night at the Opera tour. The movie was pretty good, but too short. They had to gloss over a lot of details.
I've gotta hit the rack buddy, have a good night.

That's awesome Steve. When I saw Rossington Collins, they closed with an instrumental version of Free Bird, with the stage dark, and a barstool at center stage, with a candle burning on it, and a single pin spot light illuminating it. The whole crowd was singing the words. A very moving experience.

Wow.... that had to be an amazing experience!
