Beautiful but chilly morning at the River Lake. 54°@8:15, water 71°. Cold breeze blowing down from Mass., it was dead calm at home. Threw Crankbaits, Jerkbaits, and Buzzbaits for a while with no takers. Went to a TR Dinger, and a Neko rigged Salt Craw. Caught a couple little Smallmouth in my normal spots, then headed upriver into Massachusetts. Since I wasn't marking much deep except Trout, I concentrated on the dropoffs on the banks. Found a feeder creek with a little waterfall and fished around it for a while. Missed a couple decent fish on the Neko Craw, and caught 3 more small ones on a Dinger. All three were gorging themselves on crayfish, but still hitting a worm. The saga of small fish continues, as I caught nothing over a pound. But at least we caught fish.

Nice looking water Fred, sounds like you had a good day and by the pics a great day!
Those aren't bad Fred. Good for you and thanks for the photos.
Glad you put together a pattern even if it was for smaller fish. Catching 12 to 14 inch smallies has never been a bad day of fishing to me.

Thanks Steve, yeah any action is better than no action. I'm hoping the big girls come out soon, to their normal haunts.
Good looking lake you got there Fred. Glad you caught.

Thanks Grizz, Watermelon green with red flake. I ran parallel to the bridge this time, but due to the cross wind, I had to run faster than I wanted to. That's why it looks so short. I'll try again next time I'm up there.
That's huge Grizz, this place is only about 6 miles long until you hit shallow river. The lake portion is only 826 acres.

Thanks Shut, you can feel fall in the air today. Hopefully the bigger fish will be putting on the feed bag soon.
