I’m going to be there the first week of October and want to fish for trout one day. Any recommendations on place, time and bait? Thanks
You should try to PM iteachflyfishing. He always did well right below the Tablerock dam. I haven't seen any posts from him in a while so don't know what he's up to. Could be a good connection for you. Good luck and if you are spin fishing you should u-tube how to rig with a White River Rig and use a variety of Berkley power eggs tipped with corn, waxies, shrimp, or a piece of night crawler.

Alwauys had good luck using 100 oz crappie jigs or power bait. Fly fishing from a boat towards bank.
We usually stayed at Cooper Creek but they have changed owner ship and can’t tell you anything about them now.
There is a public launch/ramps as you pull into Cooper Creek property. You turn left instead of going straight. Has dock fishing and handicap access. Restrooms.
Do not use Cooper Creek ramp!!!
Can’t remember the name but there is a resort fishing guides next to cooper creek, look on a map or goggle. They have a fly shop

Go to search and look up branson, taneycomo, ozarks. There have been discussions in the past and you can try Pm to the authors of the interesting comments.
I use ultra light rods with spinning reel, 4lb.test, and small inline spinners,Mepps are great, in copper or silver blades. We always catch trout on them. I experiment in the colors. Good luck.
Sounds like you have a winning combo. Just Sayin..RJS

Thanks, but checked with them and dock is only for those who stay at the resort, which isn’t going to work for me this time
Check out the state public ramps and docks close to Lill’s and Cooper Creek
Plenty of fishing off landings has rest rooms
Yes, while I have never been there, there have to be many more places to wet a line. Due a more diligent search on Google or Bingle. Get the names and locations of guides and bait stands, they are willing to help even if you don't choose to hire them.. Just Sayin....RJS

Lake Tannycomo, Have fished there for for 5 years now. Recommend fishing early in the AM just as the fog lifts. If you have a boat, put it in at Coopers Creek, if not you can rent one at Lazy Valley Resort or Lilly's Landing. Phi Lilly does a one cast every day and give updates on where they are catching fish and what they are using. Here is link:
https://www.facebook.com/LilleysLandingMarinaBranson. I have stayed at both places, rented boats and fished fm the dock. I use a rod and reel, with night crawlers, power bait, plastic worm and different flys. Good luck and enjoy.
talk to Phil at Lilies Landing he has a great place to stay at on Taneycomo and by the way most of the largest trout are caught on light and ultralight tackle it is a great place to fish have fun
