I’m going to be there the first week of October and want to fish for trout one day. Any recommendations on place, time and bait? Thanks

Lucky you, Steve. It's MHO, that Lake Taneycomo is the best "trout hole" in the Lower 48. It has been a long time, but I just used the fly rod. Good luck!
I’ve heard that it is really good…but I don’t fly fish
Use a plastic casting bubble/bobber. Put some water in it to give it a little heft and tie on a leader with a fly. It works. Trout love woolybuggers.
Nah! Take a guitar and make like Willie Nelson. These trout are esepecially sensitive to hearing real country music! Just Sayin...RJS

Alwauys had good luck using 100 oz crappie jigs or power bait. Fly fishing from a boat towards bank.
We usually stayed at Cooper Creek but they have changed owner ship and can’t tell you anything about them now.
There is a public launch/ramps as you pull into Cooper Creek property. You turn left instead of going straight. Has dock fishing and handicap access. Restrooms.
Do not use Cooper Creek ramp!!!
Can’t remember the name but there is a resort fishing guides next to cooper creek, look on a map or goggle. They have a fly shop

There is public fishing down by what they call the landing, much has changed since they put in bass pro and shopping center
Again goggle or contact the city travel people

Lilley's Landing has a bait and fly shop on Taneycomo, and they also do a youtube video EVERY DAY called "Lilley's Landing One Cast". Great folks
Sounds like an ideal spot to wet a line in the daytime and hear music at night! Just Sayin..RJS
Thanks, but checked with them and dock is only for those who stay at the resort, which isn’t going to work for me this time
Thanks. I think I will go there as it is close to where I will be staying
