While cleaning my shed, I came upon my collection of Cabela's Special Edition hardcover catalogs, I think, I have the complete set that they had issued. I have two issues for each year from 2004 until the year 2014. The first three issues have been opened, the last 17 issues are still in their shipping containers and have never been opened. I went on eBay and the asking price of a single edition would be from $4.00 to $10.00. Some people have lot prices of 4 - 8 copies, for $25.00 - $50.00. No one had the complete set like I have. The shipping and handling price was all over the place. The shipping of them would be horrendous. Should I do like my buddy did and take them to the recycling center, or try to sell them? I'm thinking I will try to sell them on Craigslist and the buyer can come and pick them up, but I don't live in a very heavily populated area. Your thoughts, please.

I believe eBay charges now to list an item even if it doesn't sell. I could be wrong and I don't know how much. I know that the last time I looked at eBay it seemed like all businesses and very few individuals listing items. Again, I may have been looking at the wrong items. Your mileage may vary.

I don't think I would trash them before at attempting to sell them though. Might try Facebook marketplace...

There may be a limited market for them, but it may be worth a shot at selling them. I may be tempted to try to purchase something from the catalog at the 2004 price, though ๐Ÿ˜‚
Good luck with whatever you decide.

My wife and I have had very good luck with that approach...and I still use Craigslist now and then depending on what the item is. You have a valid reason for steering away from E-Bay...as shipping can be a real deal breaker! Good luck and I hope they find a new home!

Thank you, OJ, I'm sure all of the makes, models, and PRICES have changed considerably since then.

You're sure not getting any bites on here, are you? Maybe that should tell you something? Fly, what you're doing is one of the toughest things folks can ever do. Try to determine if something that once had value to you is worth anything to anyone else. Some people have a horrible problem with it. They're called hoarders. But I'm pretty sure all of us have a little of that in us. I just went through my garage and carried two truckloads of stuff to the dump. Mrs Spirit couldn't watch and did not participate. Oh well. It needed to be done. Not saying you shouldn't try to find someone who would like to have them. Just don't be too disturbed or disappointed if you don't.

Sounds like a good way to "create good WILL"... When you are in need of something they sell, there might be some "wiggle-room" found, in the pricing of whatever that item(s) might be!
