Howdy folks! I really enjoy reading all the post I see on here. Having said that, let me introduce myself. I’m Robert, username is Bert1949. I finally got to fish with my youngest son yesterday, we had a great day! Caught a few fish, nothing spectacular but truly enjoyable!

Nice bass Robert and great to have you here. Nothing better than spending time fishing/hunting with your kids It doesn’t get any better. Shows that you’ve done a successful job raising your kids and that they enjoy spending time with you. Kinda reminds me of Harry Chapins song “Cats in the Cradle” and what I didn’t want to do.

Welcome to the Forum, Robert. When I first glanced at the picture I thought you were blessing it. Then I figgered out that you were comparing your forearm to the size of the fish, a good idea.

Lmao! I felt like blessing it! For some reason I am losing so many fish, good ones, lately I don’t know what to do!

Hi Bert1949. Nice fish. Fishing with kids n grandkids is the best. One suggestion Bert. Put your location in your profile so we have an idea where you're located. Will come in handy when it comes to some questions 👍

Thanks Griz. I am out of Wagoner, Oklahoma. Native of East Texas, Nacogdoches to be precise. My usual lakes are Ft. Gibson, Skiatook, and Tenkiller. Did make a spring trip home and fished Fork and Naconiche. First time at Naconiche, amazing fishery but a huge amount of vegetation!

Welcome to the forum Bert. I also fish FT Gibson mostly for bluecat & crappie. I'm only minutes away from Tenkiller & I fish Oologa for bluecat. I've fished Skiatook some but it's not as close as the others. Right now I'm relaxing in my motel room in Sturgeon Bay, wisconsin. My fishing buddy & I are fishing Lake Michigan & not having the best of luck. It's been windy the last 2 days & this lake gets nasty. Good luck & maybe I'll see you at Cypress Cove for some crappie fishing.

Nice to hear from you BC. I was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base in early 70s, those lakes can get big water in a hurry! Hope your fishing improves!

Welcome to the Forum, Robert. I don't get to Ft Gibson or Tenkiller nearly enough, but I wonder why...I usually do well on those lakes! Tight Lines.

Nice fish. Welcome to the stage. I married a girl that didn't say much until we were maried, she hasn't shut up since.
