We went to a local small town restaurant here a few weeks back and a normal $ 40 - $ 45 meal for 2 with tip is now easy $ 80's. Here lately we been hitting a Asian restaurant for $ 22 got for meals out of it.
I understand they are making up for lost income and paying the help twice as much as before, but in the long run it will bite them where it hurts once again.

The price of crabs is through the roof this year. I don't know if the crabs count is low or we're getting out bid from overseas. Either way 70 to a 100 usd a dozen for steamed crab is horrendous.

Be honest Bob, you would have been disappointed if you missed my calls.

After seeing the menu for PB's restaurant (Dirty Dick's), I checked
the current menu for my family's favorite restaurant back home (The Ogunquit Lobster Pound, Restaurant and Lounge/Ogunquit, Maine) - used to be we could go there and get a
half-order (1 lb.) of steamed clams,
a lobster tail dinner and two beers each (with tip) for around $50
apiece ! Now the price for that exact same dinner is around $75/$80 each !
I'd REALLY like to thank someone
in charge (since January) for the wonderful rate of inflation we've
been seeing since then, but it could land this post in the Attic or get me deleted and suspended (again)
if I did so !

You want me to be honest? That is an easy one. Sure would have been.

Is it inflation or recoup of loss funds by so many restaurants that continued to pay the rent?
Will we ever see restaurant prices go back down?
Lumber is and the mills had to keep paying the rent. Just Saying.

Prices may go back down eventually, but it may take much longer than
most of us would like !

“Keep your friends close and your enemies closer” is an ancient proverb. It goes back thousands of years to the philosopher Sun Zhu. But today, most people know it from The GodFather. “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer” just means that you need to keep on top of what your enemies are doing.

Very true. Sad so many people don’t even care about that. My Mom, 92 years old, is going home from the hospital today after getting a pacemaker put in yesterday. She’s 600 miles away from me and talking to her this morning re-aligned my priorities. My two sisters are there with her but I’m gonna head that way for a few days to help her through the first couple of weeks when she gets home. Nothing more important than the good people we have in our lives. I’ve met many of those types of people here on the stage. I feel blessed to have a good group of gals and guys here as a second family in my opinion. From conversing with lots of people here on the stage I can see there are many here that would help a person out in time of need and I’m one of them. I pray for those who bash, attack, belittle and look for things to cause problems over because they don’t understand the importance of having good people in their lives. They are sad, angry people and need our prayers and positive guidance. I don’t dislike any of them and hope they see a better path some day.

Good one Wullfy. I lost my 2 BFF's over the last 5 years and now i have come to realize that here on the stage there are numerous BFF's.
Guys and Gals on here have gotten me through some not so good days and in better times have shared laughs that only a few get it. It was once said that " the only shame here is that we all don't live in the same area " .
But yet it has been so good to know that many can go nearly anywhere in this country and know they have a friend in this great land. For that i cherish my FS friends.
In the world away from the stage i try to treat my friends, acquaintances, and neighbors like they are my next of kin.
One never knows when one will be in need.
