I received an email from the U.S.Dept. of the Interior, @ 16:05 today y have JUST gotten around to ✓ing it out. Part of what "they" had to say =
"Hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities contributed > $156 BILLION in economic activity in communities across the U.S. in 2016, according to the Fish and Wildlife Service. ... >101 Million Americans -(that's 40% of the U.S. population, age 16 and older)-; pursue wildlife related recreation, including hunting and fishing.
Just thought I'd pass on that "factoid" (Well, it IS from the government.)

I'm thinking that the "time-warp" aspect of the report, has more to do with the ability of the "Bean Counters" in Washington DC; to gather and "assess" all the data... Just a guess. (Hell; they only know {kinda} for sure, how many HUMANS live in America; once in 10 years!)

That they can do an even half-assed job of it every 10 years is actually pretty amazing if you ask me. You try counting 330 million people.

They don't know how many Americans are in Afghanistan!! I find that incredible and totally unacceptable. Who is accountable Joe?!

It was easier counting people this time around in Illinois. People are leaving the state in droves for a few years. When the kids finished school I told them to find jobs in a different state. Two of them did but the other three are still here as are we.

I remember a "Census Taker" (Agent, whatever you call those guys) getting 1/2-way upset with me, for not "living" where he was trying to count people. (I was just "a house-guest" of a guy on the northern edge of Liberty City, in Miami, Florida; for VERY temporary)... I told him that I would be counted as a resident of Cleveland, Ohio & he "threatened legal action".
This happened in mid-May of 1980.
I don't know what he ever decided to DO about my refusal to (¿basically LIE TO HIM?), because, that night, or the following night is when that riot broke out there. I got GONE.
