Well, IF you have been enjoying your "store bought fish" (I do, from time to time); you'd be well advised to go and do a bit of an internet search, regarding "Siluriformes Fish Products" (basically catfish) and become educated about what the inspection people have to say.

Thanks for the update, AM. The only store-bought fish the bride buys is wild-caught, Sockeye Salmon.

Pretty much the same here, plus Tilapia on occasion.

With all the fish I catch it would be a sin to BUY fish of any kind.
However, sometimes I do buy canned Tunafish though. Does that count?

I agree saw. But canned Tuna is a whole other thing. We use it in brads super baits. Have used it for 🦞 crawfishing. Wife likes it but I always say if you say you don’t like fish ( fresh fish) why do you eat the fishiest stuff available. Fresh fish don’t smell like fish.

Is that from Costco? “Wild caught, Copper River, sockeye”?

Can you guys catch albacore tuna down your way. I used to catch a bunch of it when I lived in Oregon. We’d go out of Newport Bay about 80 miles and fish for two days. 4 of us would limit out (25 per day apiece) and cut up tuna for another two days. That stuff tastes and smells, exactly, like canned tuna. Good stuff. Especially smoked. Teresa loves it seared with wasabi mustard.

Gotcha. They’re pretty good if you ever get the chance to try them.

That is a bummer. Order fresh grilled Tuna sometime. You will see what i mean. Its really good bbqed ginger and mustard. No mustard flavor when cooked but oh boy is it good. The meat is a lot different than the catfood type.

I'm not aware of any WARNINGS out, regarding canned tuna... I HAVE seen warnings about Âżsome? canned seafood, over the years.

There was a guy, had made a BIG batch of tuna salad out of a fresh-caught "Football Tuna" (Black Tuna), several years ago, in Ft. Pierce, FL... ¡MAN, that was some good tuna salad!

store bought fish like tilapia are usually farmed raised and are not healthy to eat from what I've read; I don't buy from the store anyways. Fresh caught in the AM and tasty in the evening is what we do.
