The Coquille River, hits the Ocean right by Bandon, Oregon. I’ve caught Bottom fish in the ocean there and Crabbed in the bay, but never fished the Coquille. One of the camping contacts over there just told us the Fish & Wildlife shut down the Salmon for the rest of the season but we might be able to fish for Stripers, so I’m going to check it out.

Well, I've only fished for stripers in the Napa and Petaluma rivers. Either of those rivers BIG rattle Traps and big jointed type of Rebel minnow work very well. If trollin, we go bout 5mph with bout 180 feet of line out. They run bout 10 feet deep+/-.

Thanks Saw, that gives me a great Starting point as I know nothing about Striper fishing. Just found out from OFWD that I can use bait, and there are Stripers and Small mouth in the river. So will see what happens when we get there end of next month

For bait we always used frozen anchovies or sardines, mostly anchovies though. Sometimes shrimp, ghost, grass or mud shrimp.
