Hey guys. Got out to the Bay and the water was perfect. Some guy leavin had caught 3 and said he caught them around 7am.
Finally got the boat launched and went out. Bait was everywhere. Caught plenty and started driftin/trollin for Halibut. Got 1 bite and caught 1 fish, it was 31 inches and was 10 pounds. Brad was the lucky one today. Got off the water by 12:30.
Goin to the Napa tomorrow and Saturday for Stripers.
Suppose to be over a 100* the next 3 days here. Glad Sunday's coming for a day of rest. Played too hard hiking and swimming with the kids at Tahoe and now non stop fishin since I've been back, I'm getting a little tired.

Nice Saw. One day I'll get to tastes a halibut. Don't have them here. Good luck tomorrow. Gordon
Nice catch Brad, if you can only catch one, that's the one you want. Nice pictures Steve, thanks for sharing.
PS :Next time it's your turn.
Wow wee nice fish Steve even so it sounds like you weren’t the lucky one you still had a wonderful day with friends fishing 🎣 good luck tomorrow with the Stripers not the strippers LOL
Well done out there! Great summary of your recent fishing activity!!!
That’s the perfect eater size. Good job.
Careful of those chompers! Had one try to remove a couple of my fingers once. I ate it.
Really nice fish and it had a good dentist too! Love halibut!

Yeah, that looks like a good eating fish! Glad you're getting out and enjoying life a bit... Don't forget to bring along plenty of Gatorade or Powerade &/or drinkable water... That kinda HEAT will sometimes dehydrate a man, quicker than seems right..

Way to go, Steve and Brad! I have a lot of Kayak Anglers who fish that area too. Did you see any kayak anglers while you were out there?

I've never fished Tomales Bay, I just go there to eat oysters at the Hog Island place in Marshall. Anyone else like oysters?
Your last picture of the halibut mouth reminds me of that saying "how do you tell a halibut from a flounder? Stick your finger in it's mouth, if you still have a finger it is a flounder"

Love oysters. Go out and pick them every winter. Take a knife so I can check them out while picking.

I used to really "gobble them UP"; then a Doctor told me to "avoid them", due to having contracted Hepatitis C... I went through a "course of Interferon" (yeah, the same drug they give people with the A.I.D.S.) and have not ✓'d with "a professional opinion" as to whether or not I'm now "allowed to" eat oysters... But, before I get near saltwater, I'm planning on finding out.
