60 pounds. The same week I caught a 36 pounder and a 35 pounder. All Flathead catfish.

Not my biggest ever, but locally I caught a 6lb 7oz brown trout ice fishing medium shiners at Comet pond in Hubbardston MA. It was a trophy catch for this neck of the woods and probably my most memorable catch ever. I've caught huge king salmon and football shaped browns on lake Ontario but its expected out there.

150 pound grouper off the Atlantic coast near Lantana Florida. On a driftboat with about a dozen people. I was the only one on board that caught a fish that day. Got bored, so I just started reeling off line to deeper water. Took about an hour to land the beast! It filled the cavernous trunk of my father-in-law's old Pontiac Lemans. It was a memorable day in 1970!

The largest was 25 pound Salmon. On a 8 weight Fly-rod that took almost 25 minutes to land and release. Caught on the P. M. in Michigan.

The biggest fish was a 500 pound Jew fish off Charlotte Harbor Florida . That was massive you could fit two basketball in its mouth I have it on a VHS tape the fish pulled me from one side of the boat to the other after that day I had a trigger finger what a fun trip it was

We were fishing small private ponds. The owner told us there was a 40lb grass carp he was trying to catch and move to another location. My 6 year old son and I were catching blue cats and I had found a hole with a lot of small fish. I was catching every cast and lost track of my son. I didn't realize, he had moved to the lake behind us where the big fish lived. He threw his Zebco 404 and hooked that big guy. I got to him right before it pulled him in the pond. We fought it for a good half hour, his cheap reel only had 12lb test line I thought it would destroy the reel but it did not, I think we still have it in storage. My son who is 20 years old has caught a lot of big fish, but he and I will never forget the Big Grass Carp.
