I bought my first kayak. I was 5 hours into fishing for large mouth bass. I got lazy and tried trolling for the first time. I didnt have a scale so I dont have a weight. I tried to take a picture for proof, but dropped a $300 dollar phone into the lake. Worth it.

350 lb dusky shark on crap gear. Though my arms were falling off. I swear the drag washers were two stainless steel rings. Drag never pulled, was a straight eff you, I’m going to pull you overboard.

Caught but never landed, my brother and I were fishing in the gulf, I hooked a fish and started reeling him up, I got a few cranks on him and he decided to go back down, I held on and soon he was on his way up, by that time my brother was standing beside me, we saw the fish and he saw the boat at the same time and he decided he didn't want any part of it, he shot for the bottom and that was that, he popped the line like it was thread, it was a Cobia about 5 ft long, caught but never landed, but the thrill of it is still with me.🐱

50.25 inch musky caught on a surface lure in northern Wisconsin. I go musky fishing every fall for a week every fall. I love the rush of landing one of the hardest fighting freshwater fish.

I have caught some 50 - 60 lb. amber jack in the gulf but my best memory is landing a 36 lb. striper while acting as mate on my uncle's party boat when I was about 14 (1967). Broke my heart when I learned that the people who chartered the boat got the fish.

I caught a9 foot sailfish (about 2 foot of it was his bill) out of Mazatlán. It only took about 20 minutes to reel it in.

76 pound cobia off of the old Jacksonville beach pier back in the 1970's. Caught a 64 pound one the same day and a 32 pound one the next day. That was a great pier. The new pier (indestructible as stated when built) still hasn't been repaired from the last large hurricane. My drive way is longer than it is now. Not much of a chance at catching a big one there now.

caught but never landed, drift fishing with live squid in the north atlantic out of moriches inlet, sharks were the target and one reel went off, the heavy rod pointing straight down and bucking. Using 50 lb gear, it took us a long time to wear the fish out, it was giving us a nantucket sleigh ride on an old style 21 ft outrage. After about a 45 minute back and forth fight, the fish finally came alongside the boat and it was a giant tuna..my friend was on the gaff and i grabbed the wire leader just as the fish was within range of the gaff, i watched the hook come out of his mouth in a puff of blood and that fish slowly slid away...true story, of the "almost biggest fish i ever almost caught I wanted to cry, i wanted to blame my buddy for not gaffing him sooner, and i wanted that fish..the one who sorta got away
