Couple Bluefish this morning

Little guys...3 or 4 lbs....mommy and daddy must be out deep....better than the usual assortment of sandsharks and horseshoe crabs .

Not sure why the 2 were covered in blood...hook was in lip...

I have never caught a bluefish, They look a lot like whiting without whiskers.

The adults can reach close to 30 lbs. these were little guys....the adults are blue ish....the little ones are brown .

Looks a lot like a whiting Danger. Are there short wiskers on the bottom lip?

They do not look like Monmouth County bluefish!

Caught thousands of snapper blues. Never seen a brown one.

Then i stand corrected.... guy surf fishing a couple yards from me said they were blues...guess ingotta change the name of this thread....lol...

Was wondering why they weren’t blue..ish.....

Im not one to question the guys on here who are obviously old hands at this, and i am a complete amateur, but the fish i caught dont look like any pics of whiting i can find....no whiskers, and the fins are different....

More resembled this one than the whiting...as far as the fins go...
