Don’t know if in 20 years I will be poking these keys, but a good point being made here.

Sure, we all want to leave something for the kids but we’ve earned it and now have the time to enjoy it.

However, it’s that running out of what is needed that concerns a lot of us. It just would be nice if the man upstairs would let us know when the expiration date is.

Excellent thought Plum, Samuel was a very wise man. One of my favorite quotes "If you tell the Truth, you don't have to remember anything."

One of my greatest fears is that by the time I am retired and have enough money and time to do the things I want to do…my body won’t be able to do those things. Just a reality, based on the foolish abuse I put my body through until now. I am sure I am not alone…

I hear you OJ, both financially and physically, Had I known I would live this long, I would have taken much better care of myself, and saved more money.

I took pretty decent care of myself. Played sports and worked out into my 40s. Saved some money. Didn't plan for cancer, losing all my money in my 401k during a recession in 2008-2009 and ending up essentially jobless and homeless. Tell me how you plan for that crap?

That being said, I have bounced back and got some living to do yet. I just don't take anything for granted. Life can throw you that curveball any day.

You have that right G. My tells me I'm the most negitive person she ever knew. I tell her I'm the most positive person. I don't live in the land of rainbows n unicorns. Life will kick you in the head every chance it gets. If you're not strong you'll lay down n play dead. Roll over look at the stars n pick your ass up. Nobody is going to do it for you. I've had my share n a couple more lumps. I too bullheaded to stay down. 😤😤

A big difference between being negative and being a realist. "It's not how hard you can hit. It's how hard you get hit and keep moving forward." - Rocky in Rocky Balboa. Kinda fits doesn't it?

Absolutely G. She didn't grow like did. She never experienced the violence i saw at home. When i got to paris island it was a wake up call. They tried to break us n some did. I keep telling them but loud enough they hear. I'm crazy not frickn stupid LOL. I'd say my old man couldn't break me n neither can you. It was a challenge. If i wouldn't have been so hardheaded i would have stayed in. I liked being a MARINE. 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

Sounds like you learned a lot about yourself and how to deal with some tough cards you were dealt. I doubt you are crazy. Just tough enough to handle things.

Thanks G. Appreciate that. You're had your share of hard times also brother. I've been lucky to have good health. Wish i could say the same for my body 😀. I learned to be independent at a young age. Everybody use to borrow money or items from my grandfather. Then never pay him or return stuff. All family. He signed for me to get a car. I was the only one that paid the debt. I'd hear him complain n rightfully so about it. I made up my mind I'd never beg or not pay a debt or live off someone. My wife got onme one day n i told her I'm not here because i have to. I can take care of myself just fine n she knows i can stay silent for wks. Instead of arguments i just quit talking.. 👍👍

Lot's of wisdom shared on this one...all so very true. You've got to make as much happen along the way with whatever ideas and means that are available at the time so that when you look back now and then you have a sense of deliberate accomplishment...no matter how big or small it may seem!

Excellent one Bob. I tell my wife all the time, "what am I going to wait for to do something. Will it be better when I'm 80?"

Totally agree, by the time I reach 80 (about 3 1/2 years) my body will be destroyed from all the fun I have had😊😂

Thanks pb for the reminder; that Mark guy had a lot of good ones tucked. I’ve always said getter done today. Putting it off sucks; something seems to always get in the way. OBG, I spent a lot of time in Phoenix summers at 110-120, gosh darn hot but with humidity down around 25-30 % somehow didn’t feel too hot. Hope its the same for y’all when you are out there. At 82 now, can’t do what I used to do but still making big plans for wife and myself. Big road trip, across to the east coast and north up to see the turning of the leaves. We have seen all of Western Europe, Caribbean, Hawaii, Alaska, some of Canada- now time to catch up on the good ol’ USA. Good what ever you are going to do to everyone , enjoy life and have a great time while you are doing it.

Going 'leaf-peeping up in the northeast ? If you're going to
N.H. and want/need - input/ directions/suggestions, just
PM me !

Incidentally, it should be -'Laissez
les bons temps rouller' ! - Since
'good times' is plural in English,
so should it be in French ! In French and Spanish (and probably Italian)
the article and adjective should
match the subject in gender and
whether singular or plural !

(Yes ! Words have gender in
certain languages !)

Thanks Big A, you are 100% correct. Never noticed the ol’ finger didn’t hit the “s” hard enough on the keyboard to register or maybe the ol” brain wasn’t working too good that day. Gonna get that fixed rat now!

We may have crossed paths out there along our journeys TX. My favorites were the South Pacific islands, NZ and best of all Austrailia. Sounds like a great trip you are planning, be safe an have some fun.
