In Fl a lizards will get you a snook.

Makes me wonder why I never thought of using the lizards in LA, for bait! (Probably good "Bucket-Mouth" bait!)

Did same thing. Always had a difficult time in catching and holding the nightcrawlers. Then I learned that kids up until ten or 11 years are naturals. They don't have the hesitancy or vibes that adults have and just naturally are better at grabbing them with confidence. My son routinely could pick 2-3 dozen in a short while using a red cover over the flash light. Teach or hire a kid. LOL

Don't know why not. I don't hook the lizzards. I use bread ties and wrap the tie around the lizzards belly and around the circle hook, no weight flip it under the mangroves. Sometimes the snappers get it first but always something grabs it.

¡Thanks, FF! ... Yeah; I don't know why I never did consider using them rascals for bait... Maybe because no one else around me, was using them. (It COULD also be, that; since the little lizards like to eat insects, that the Coonasses generally "leave'm alone".)

The stick and file works also as you asked about. A piece of wood or stick with notches is pushed in the ground. The file, other stick is then rubbed up and down vigorously to set up vibrations in the ground, sending the worms to the surface.
