Oh E.pa.al., that disband / defund crap really gets my goat. Let those politicians and sigh holders be in a predicament requiring an officer and see if their tune changes because no one is available to dispatch to their location.

Freedom of speech is all good, but one should not open their pie hole unless there is an alternative to their demand.

So for those not in favor of todays thread, please enlighten us to an alternative to disbanding / defunding.

Couldn’t agree more with today’s “Thought for the Day” post. The defund the police idea sickens me and cannot imagine how it plays on the minds of those in the profession. We’ve got several state troopers and local police that visit the shop and I always make it a point to thank them for their service. They appreciate the backing.

I agree with all the previous posts. Thanks PB for recognizing a profession that the critics would soil themselves attempting to perform. On a lighter note see Chris Rocks PSA from about twenty years ago. Its how not to get your a$$ kicked by the police.

I am very glad that we have police forces in place! When somebody is in trouble or they need outside help they are not going to call the "ghost busters!" The old saying of "walk a mile in my shoes" comes to mind. If people ever had to spend even a day serving their communities dressed in a police uniform they would start to become a little more enlightened!

Growing up I had the naive notion that everybody was gifted with the same amount of common sense, and that it would last them a lifetime. I may have been wrong about that! When I hear about the call to defund the police I realize that some folks must have sold their common sense for 12 shillings of silver somewhere down the line as they became t*****rs to their fellow citizens with that sort of ridiculous mindset!

Great posting Plumbob!

It may have been me. I had originally posted the link to Chris Rocks PSA. I removed it. I apologize for it if I was the reason.

I think it might have been me about what I said about our governor supporting the police in Texas. I am sorry.

Awesome post, Plum. It really fries my a$$ what these liberals are doing to our law enforcement officers. Just wait until they “cry wolf” and nobody shows up. Or maybe we should just take the law into our own hands and see how they like that...🐟on

No worries 4. I think Admin was heading off any potential verbal arguments that may have been started. No one post in my eyes looked like it would send me to the attic.

I took a chance posting the salute to the Police given the animosity towards that profession these days. Bottom line is Their site Their rules.

Todays thought / salute is for another underpaid profession. Also true that it is a job that some look down on as if they could do it better and just find fault with. But who are you going to call when it's your turn at the wrong end of a weapon?

Granted the field does have a few bad apples, but for me i wonder why people run when they are told to stop knowing all to well what may happen. Bottom line, if you are not guilty of anything why run.

So today for those that wear the badge with p***e, Thanks to the many Men and Women Police Officers out there that are as the saying goes took on a job ” To Serve and Protect “.

I’ve encountered several crooked cops in my 65 years but I have to say, any time I got a ticket for something, I was usually guilty with the exception of one time. I know WAY more good cops than bad ones. As with anything there’s gonna be a few bad apples in the basket. Do as you would with a bad apple. Don’t mess with it. The parasites will get it eventually.
