May 5, 2021 - Thomas Franchione
of Wisconsin, while fishing Lake Havasu by drop-shotting a night-crawler, hooked and landed a new world record redear sunfish ! The
fish, which measured 17 inches
with a 20-in. girth, weighed in at
6.3 lbs., beating the recent record
of 5.5 lbs. (which also came from Lake Havasu in Feb., 2014) !

It was caught in 25 ft. of water in
California Bay, about a half-mile
north of Copper Canyon on the
California side of the lake !

Okay, I was apparently wrong as I always said that if a bluegill weighed 5#, we would never land one. What a beast!
