¡¡Shots Fired!!

Well, I haven't heard any "newsflash", on my local AM Station; but, it sure sounded like SOMEBODY completely emptied a .38, .357 or .41/.44; right about at 10:53= 2× reports "in rapid succession" followed 2.5-3 seconds later, by 3 more reports (in "rapid succession")... Followed at 10:56 by 1 single shot, of the same caliber. Sounded like it was several blocks to the southeast... Prolly still in 44102. Maybe I'll read about it, in the morning. ... A buddy of mine, used to say: "That's life in the Big City" y shrug it off. I guess that's about all there is I really CAN DO, at this point.

AbleMan: That could have been Houston any night. That last round was probably to finish off someone the shooter wasn't sure about. Just Sayin...RJS

My longtime, but long ago; "across the street neighbor" had a sign in the window of the back door, that was a "line-drawing" of a .38 revolver pointing straight at you; with the words being: "Trespassers will be shot. Survivors will be shot TWICE!"

Unfortunately, this is an all too common occurrence these days. The only shots I hear in my neighborhood are from someone poaching a deer or possibly a coyote at night. Stay low and away from the windows.

Able, when i was in NC that was an everyday occurrence. However it was target practice in the back field. Here in Maryland there is no back field. Boy i miss country living.

Yeah, plumbob; I grew up so far out "in the country" that we would have target practice 12-15 feet out the back door (hadda get up on top of a small hill, to shoot into the next hill to the west)! ... Here, in the Dirty City; they're more than likely, not target practicing or k*****g anything other than mean dogs +/or other humans.

Is that 12 - 15 feet how far the target was from the back door? If so you sound like a North Carolinian. Why even get off the porch? LOL

Well, ya got a laugh outta me, with that one... No, 12-15 feet as the crow flies towards the west and maybe 5 or 6 feet of elevation, above the threshold of the back door. I'm guessing that we were roughly 150ish feet from the dirt road that we lived on, and there were no other dwellings to the west, for about a mile and a 1/4(+)... There WAS a "sugar-house" in the general direction we were shooting in, but, it was about 1/2 mile away and there were a few (heavily wooded) hills, between us and the sugar house. Never once hit it. (We {my brother and myself} helped with the production of the maple syrup, each spring.)

Well i wouldn't shoot my sugar source either.

I have a friend that lives to the backside of Camp David who would have regular bi monthly shoot outs. Those guys on the other side of the hill just don't have a sense of humor. Nothing they could do about it but were concerned with the continuous rap rap rap rap sounds. Oh and the multiple different bang bangs raised an eyebrow also.

Needless to say no one asked if we got him or not.

I can remember my Ma telling us boys, ¿50-ish years ago?; that we wouldn't like "living in the city" (SHE was "a City-Girl"); that they could even hear when the neighbors FARTED!!!

😂😂😂. That’s too close to the neighbors. Sounds like something MY mom would say. She’s 92 and not real worried about what she says. Lol
