What kind of fish is this anyway?

Fredfish Loc: Prospect CT.
 
The Butterfish I've seen didn't have fins that long, so I looked it up. Come to find out,there's 15 different species of Butterfish living off the coast of the Americas. One of them is a silver pomfret that looks just like Danger's bait.

Looked up butterfish fred....says they not for human consumption....why would they sell em at the Chinese market? Unless they use them for something else. Now we know whats in them egg rolls.

This is what I found.
I've never eaten them, but I've fed them to Tuna, they think they're delicious.LOL

Yeah...it said they were common bait used for tuna...unless theres tuna in the Delaware river...i guess im screwed....ill hook em up and see what happens.

Best thing you can do with this fish is put some butter on it and throw it back. It is a cute fish if you think fish are cute.🤭

Maybe that's why nobody was buying them, as mentioned in my previous post.

Theres a bunch of recipes online, including one from Martha Stewart.
We used to buy frozen flats off them for going offshore.

I agree with butterfish. A great tuna bait, but don't think you'll find any of them in the Delaware. Hope you catch lots of cats
