Backstory.....was driving close to the neighborhood where a chinese wet market is.....since i am going out on the Delaware river tomorrow or Thursday for catfish, I remember Jake, a member who wrote the book” Catfish hunters” mentioned that bluegill was one of cat’s favorites.....so i go into the market....trying to remember what bluegill looked like from pics i had seen...since this guy was bluish in color and about the rifht size, i bought a dozen. But now im not so sure.....problem is nobody in the market speaks English and all the signs are in chinese...lol

Definitely not a bluegill, perhaps a saltwater fish of some sort? If live bait is legal, put it on a hook and good luck!

That’s the same looking frog that jumped out of a flower pot my wife bought to plant. I’d never seen one before.

If you are going to use these (I assume they are dead) make some small cuts on each side for scent, most self respecting catfish will take anything with a bit of natural scent. Bluegills are by far a favorite for catfish they love them alive if possible. These may work.

I’ll bet it’ll work. I have good luck with night crawlers and store bough salad shrimp. Not together but both work good. Might depend on where you’re fishing but🤷‍♂️.
