Howdy all, I got hooked on Cajun crawfish hot and spicy. Now having a cravin' flung on me! Just set a trap in the swamp to see if we have enough mud bugs for a boil. I'm in NW Horry County of SC. Anyone have any luck at harvesting South Carolina crawfish?

Not quit that far up. Done some in some flowing creeks on 45 between Hwy 17 and Honey Hill. And also in the Santee River at Jamestown. Havent tried this year yet. Food luck. Gordon Got this batch at Harris Teeter last friday.
I'm gonna try Hartis Teeter! Didn't know they had them.
Thanks!

If I were gonna set any traps, I'd ✓ with "the powers that BE", regarding whether or not there are any special rules/ regulations pertaining to trapping of crawfish... As I recall; in Louisiana, back in the 1970's; a man hadda be sure to attach the owner's name & address on each individual trap ... I can't swear to whether or not a special permit/ license was required; but, I'm almost thinking that there was. I realize that you're not IN Louisiana; but, all the same; ¿How much does it cost to "do a Google search", compared to paying a fine?
I'm on my own private land. An individual can mark with ID and set up to 5 traps on regulated land/waters with a fresh water fishing license.
