That is a wonderful thing to do for those girls and they will remember that for the rest of their lives. They will probably tell their children about the great neighbor that they had when they were young kids.
Good job on the rodsand being a good human being.
That was so awesome of you to do that! I’m sure the girls were so excited!
The meet and giving the girls their new rods had to be postponed because the Dad texted me this morning telling men his wife has been sick for the last two days so they are scheduled to get tested Tuesday and to be safe we will wait. He knows we are elderly and doesn't want his family to get near us for our sake. My wife and I got our second shots 24 March. Now just waiting til they give us our third shot. I have been very lucky and not had any reaction to the shots thank god. My wife had a little reaction, which she has to other types of shots, but not bad.

What is the third shot? Is this something other than Covid related?

Kerry, glad to hear your being safe. It’s nice & thoughtful of the dad to think that way, although not sure what the third shot would be, unless your getting something besides the CV-19 vaccination.

First I've heard anything about a third shot other than as a possible booster might be needed in later years.
I bet they treasure those rods lifelong.

I know a family in my neighborhood. They have two young girls and the are great people and the dad takes his girls fishing a lot. I called him and said I would like to make them new fishing rods and was that ok. He said yes and I said keep it a secret and ask them what their favorite color was. I also asked him what size spinning reels he was going to use. Once I got the info I needed I made the rods and sewed the rod bags. My wife and I are going to give them the rods this Sunday a week before the season opens.

Those are awesome looking rods. Great job👍
I’ve not heard about a 3 shot vaccination. I had both Phifzer shots myself, no reaction at all. I have lung cancer and just been hanging out in the house since last March except for chemo treatments. Lost my wife in July suddenly but she had multiple medical problems. If it wasn’t for my 3 rescue pups I would probably would have gone crazy! I’m 69 myself! You’re a good man for making those rods for those girls! I’m an avid fisherman myself since I retired last December!

All I've heard was a possible booster after 6-8 months, to help fight the variants from around the world, that are showing up here. That was from the Medical Lab where I got my 2nd shot a week ago.

Thats about what Ive heard here Fred, 3rd shot as a booster for the variant’s if determined. I’ve had my 2 Maderna and I feel good, just a little sore arm for a day after the second one. My One daughter is a Nurse Practitioner and she has not heard of anything else either. You all stay safe and Fish when you get the chance!!
