Did you have any fuel stabilizer in it?

Always heard store it with a full tank and stabilizer to reduce condensation......im starting to think storing it with just a little gas and some stabilizer might be better.....fill it up in the spring and it should run smoother right away

Danger, do you have a water separating filter, like a Racor? If not, then store it with a full tank, and a dose of Startron or Seafoam stabilizer. They will keep gas good for a year or more.
If the marina fogged the motor down then the plugs may be a little fouled from the fogging oil. Clean or replace the plugs and you should be fine.

Sounds like it is probably fuel related. Ethanol really takes its toll. Also water can get in gas from condensation forming in the gas tank. There are people who say to avoid condensation in gas tank store the boat for winter with 1/2 tank or more of gas treated with ethanol treatment. I like stabil . The blue one. I put it in every time I gas up. You can store the gas up to a year once it’s been treated . It’s my understanding that The red stabil is for storage only . This is usually part of the winterization process. I think new spark plugs in the spring is always a good idea for boats that run in saltwater. Probably the wires too. New fuel filters should be put in and Check fuel hoses as they deteriorate often due to ethanol and small flakes of the rubber clog filters.if you don’t have a water separator filter get one installed. You should check your impeller to see if it’s in good shape and making good pressure, that’s crucial . Your lower unit should be lubed.Did you have someone do the spring start up or are you doing it yourself?

Doing it myself. I lubed everything on the motor..i did use the blue stabil with the gas i just put in...i dont know what they used at the marina. I pulled the plugs and they seem fine , it does srart right up but just seems like its not running as smooth as it should for a motor with only 26 hours on it...that, and the similar problem i had with motorcycles leads me to think once i run a tank of gas thru her, she should be ok.

Not sure if it has a water separater Fred....but i did pull and clean the plugs. I dont know what they did or didn’t do at the marina so that doesn’t help.

Seems like a sound theory to me . Try it . Make sure it’s pissing strong right away, if not it’ll over heat really fast and burn up your motor.

Here was my standard solution for that situation. Pour all the old gas in your car. Start with fresh gas and thenalso replace the spark plugs in your motor. That way with all fresh gas and plugs, you should be fine. Just Sayin...RJS

If you have one it looks like this, I put one in every boat I fueled at the shore. We often got gas with water in it,and you don't want to get stuck on the water. The water collects in the bottom, and you can drain it right out the little valve on the bottom.

The 2 on the left are separators.
