Right on !!!!!!!!!! Whenever I go fishing or wherever, I almost always take someone elses trash with me. I was up in the mountains one day and saw a beautiful campsite all messed up with foil and cans everywhere. I had some trash bags with me in the 4 wheeler and cleaned up the site. On the way down I passed some Forest Service people going up the hill; they asked me what was in the bags. I told them it is someones trash; they looked " shell-shocked". I told them I considered that campsite to be part of my back yard, so I cleaned it up. SOP for some of us. Police your area and leave nothing but foot prints !!!

Every year I go fishing at a beautiful lake up in the mountains. A couple of years ago I was fishing on the bank when I saw a logging truck stop at the dam and throw 3 large bags of trash into the lake. I don't know if he heard me yell but he is lucky I didn't have a rifle. I would have put a couple of holes in his truck as a reminder. The people that fish there and camp there are really good about "pack it in, pack it out" but it only takes a few aholes like that guy to really mess things up.

in ? Or step up and make sure it went IN the trash rather than alongside it ? People go to the lake for sun, swimming, fishing and fresh air, NOT to smell someone else's crappy diaper !

I was a Boy Scout back in the day. Typically it was only the boys that were interested camping and fishing, etc. that bothered to buy the uniform and learn the rules. I became an avid backpacker. In the 70's, I was that college student always hitching to the mountains for the weekend with my pack. We were always taught to pack out more than you brought. Even that long ago, there was trash left by careless people. Lots of it. We hiked in Yosemite and packed out thirty pounds of trash each. It was the right thing to do. It still is. It will always be. Let's keep the wilderness clean for our kids and grandkids, so they can be moved by it's beauty like we were. It's the least we can do for them.
