That tracker boat I posted pics of last week
My brother is just getting around to firing it up.after not running for 17 years
He said it runs with throttle response but dies after about 5 minutes
New oil bypass Fuel pump installed.
He said it runs better each time he starts it
I think he’s close
Anyone familiar with this motor that I can have my brother reach out to ?

Ben when i bought my tracker used it would run a little n shut off. If you didn't redo carbs it may be that. It was my problem. God luck

First thing ben compression test, spark check. If this is good remove all old gas out of system. Order carb kits. Rebuild carbs. This is about skill level of about 5 for tech knowledge. Just do not mix carb parts up do one carb at a time. You can soak the carb bodies in marine carb cleaner. On the carb install after cleaning syc& link the carb linkage. That means the throttle plates are closed all the way. On wot plates should be level. If they are out of syc the motor will run poorly at idle. This motor is a 50:1 fuel mix. The Ricky Sitka

Try some cleaning additive into gas supply. After sitting for so long there is bound to be some leftover sludge in entire inside of engine it will take a while to burn all of it out. I take my boat out on the missourie river once a year and having to run the engine more than fishing on a lake it always runs better after the river run.

Sounds like all good advice I had an old marine mechanic tell me one time just keep running it will get better with time definitely use recreational fuel and some seafoam wouldn't hurt.

Well ben look at it like this. This is not a car you can not get out and walk home. if you do the work on this motor it will get you back to the launch.I would not trust this motor. You can not get the varnish out of the carbs. No matter how much conditioner you use. Ricky

Vent is very important but there has been a lot of good information.

Thanks all
Should have been a little more specific
Carbs professionally rebuilt
New fuel pump , fuel lines, water pump lower seals
New fuel tank / line
New cold start solenoid
New plugs
Can’t remember compression readings but all 3 checked good and within 5 psi of each other.
It’s obviously getting spark , it runs for 5 minutes
Obviously getting fuel. Throttle responds when running

Tank is new. Never had fuel in it
