I don't know about other branches of the military but i do know the Marine Corps had a way of getting your attention. It wasn't always the ez way. Military makes you grow up fast.
That it did especially at 19. Shame I didn't continue the lessons I learned and instead ended up learning from experience.

Chilly is a degree up from frigid. I left the heat on for her. Sad part is we are on week 10 of our 26 week wait for a sofa delivery. She slept on the recliner.
Damn Covid
Maybe by 2022 it will be taken care of. (maybe)
Sure hope your sofa comes sooner.

So true Fd, however how do you put a time limit on a decision when lives are at stake?
True. When lives are at stake you have to do something.

A Marine, I might add...much to BB's chagrin.
Although he is a fictional character, there is one Marine I much admire, along with 'Chesty' Puller, 'Pappy' Boyington, and a few others !

Yes was a lot of good Men.
Boyington was also a Flying Tiger. He was the only one chosen that was not a reserve officer. When they were looking for volunteers for Flying Tigers the Marine Corp let Boyinton go because he was a pain in the ass. The Flying Tigers learned the Wingman theory from Chenault who started up the Flying Tigers to shoot down Japs for China. Long story shorten, he eventually got kicked out of Tigers(his drinking ect) and got back to the States and wanted to be flying for Marines. The reason he was back in Marines is because they needed Men. They put him way out in Pacific to keep him out of their hair, like the others in his Squadron. He eventually was shot down and was a POW for remainder of War. Good Pilot.
We shall never forget Chesty...
