Well, we are finally in a friend’s home safe and warm. It is no ours but friends from our Bible Study class who called and offered their home for us to crash.

This is Monday and we had been without electricity from around midnight Saturday. Our temperature was 42 degrees this morning and had been that low since the storm hit. My wife is more sensitive to the cold, so we’ve been under covers, or shivvering for a long time On Sunday night we had a ton of covers on our bed.

Finally, we got a call from friends inviting us to come and stay with them until we got electirity home. Houston and surrounding area has a lot of the city without electricity. So there are long lines for automobiles trying to buy gasoline, or folks trying to buy breakfast. This morning the one place we finally found that was open, but a long line. When we finally are up to get served they were out of coffee!

I was supposed to get my second Covid-19 shot today, but it has ben called off due to the general shutdown due to the unusually hard winter freeze. Just Sayin…RJS

Hey Robert,

There is another winter storm coming through tonight. Starts around 1 am and runs through Thursday.
At least where I live, just north Austin, that's the case. My place got down to 51 degrees before the power was restored.
Thank you lineman.

Check your weather forecast.

Good luck RJ I live in central Minnesota and it not been above zero here for over a week -25 farenheit where I live. Warmed up -6 yesterday. We are used it up north here I have back up propane and kerosene heaters if my furnace goes out. And it has 3 times in my old house. Never here yet but I have my camper in my garage and it has propane furnace and generator stove. Don't need a refrigerator here now. And it is to cold to go ice fishing. Maybe next weekend stay warm and safe wish I had my truck and snowplow down there. 🛶

We are being warned of a second winter blast tomorrow or Thursday with sub zero tempreatures. Our friends house has a mysterious water leak from either the roof or attic. They are checking now, may be the water heater! This is the worst winter storm in maybe 100 years, no one I know has experienced such weather.

Any one having fun in 2021 yet? Just Sayin...RJS

Well, there's more than just me! We are now hunkered down with friends, but it seems their water heater has crapped out! I can do without a shower, but there are other needs. We may all wind up and a Holiday Inn, if tthey have electricity! Just Sayin...RJS
