Today more than any other time in my lifetime our country is suffering from the lack of t***h. It isn’t that the t***h isn’t out there but many fall into one of the following categories:
• They have been deceived into believing something that is not true.
• They believe t***h is wh**ever a person believes to be true.
• They do not care what the t***h is.
• They do not even believe that t***h exists.
Anyone who has been paying attention at all over the past decade or so can come up with multiple examples of each of these. The abandonment of t***h is pervasive in all areas of our society including our bedrock institutions such as:
• Education system
• Judicial system
• Healthcare system
• Science
• Political
• Religious organizations
• Family structure
As a result, the very fabric of our nation is being torn apart and we are now a nation divided on the verge of coming apart. This war on t***h is not anything new, there has always been deceivers who try to turn people from the t***h and to embrace a lie which always end ups being to the detriment of those they have deceived. If we are going to survive and even thrive as a nation we first must at least come together and agree as a nation we are going to “seek the t***h and speak the t***h”. This does not mean we will not have different views, but it does mean we need to anchor our view in the t***h not a deceptive lie.
So, what is t***h? The definition of t***h is “that which is in accordance with fact or reality.” Some characteristics of t***h that I have come up with are:
• T***h can be tested while a lie must be protected. If a “t***h” is being protected from being examined most likely the one protecting it knows it really isn’t true. If you are not willing to have your record catch examined, weighted and measured most likely you know you are not being t***hful on your facts of the catch.
• T***h stands the test of time. While the size of a fish caught often grows over time the t***h of it’s size remains the same
• T***h is not determined by the majority view. You catch a flat fish back at the dock everyone tells you it is flounder, but one old guy takes one look at it and says it is a small halibut look at the shape and tail. Turns out the old guy was right everyone else wrong.
• Just because something can not be proven true does not make it not true and just because something can not be proven not true does not make it true. It just means it has not been proven true or not true and subject to honest disagreement and is accepted or reject by an act of faith, often based on the “Preponderance of Evidence” or personal experience. You are out fishing by yourself and catch and release a monster fish. Back at the dock the person you tell doubts the veracity of your story. It is a true story but you can’t prove it so your “friend” can choose to believe it or not but the lack of proof doesn’t mean your fish story is true or false (even though fishermen never lie about things like this)
• Partial t***hs are often used to hide the full t***h. The limit is 5 fish you have caught 7, The game warden asks did you catch any fish today. You say I caught 5 which is a true statement since if you caught 7 you had to catch 5 first but it is a partial t***h told to hide the full t***h that you also caught 2 more over the limit.
Ok even though I am posting this in the Attic I tried to keep it fishing focused in examples but of course one can easily find the examples in other areas as well but the point being how can we discern the t***h and how can we get our nation back to the point where it values the t***h and stands on the t***h.

"when you light a candle to chase away the darkness......you also cast shadows". This is a very well written analogy about the t***h. Unfortunately the human mind believes what it will. Magicians and charlatans have been feeding on that for ever. My take is the solution is not "t***h" it is trust. distrust is what has divided us as a nation. IMHO

DC, you hit on so many points that are d**gging our country down. One of the most importing is our education system. If parents would read their children's school books from the time they start and through high school they would be horrified by what they are being taught. The high school are teaching at a 6 grade level. There is no teaching of civics anymore but a liberal to socialist/c*******t way of life. Enough of my soapbox for today. Good work DC.

that may be true for some but think of all that would have or have not happened if the t***h were known
How many wars would we not have gotten involved in
How many politicians would not have been elected
How many false accusations that ruined lives would not have been believed
How many destructive groups would not have had gained momentum
How many trillions of dollars would not have been waisted
How many guilty would not of been let free and innocents punished
and the list goes on which I know you can add to the world would be a much better place if everyone had a desire for the t***h and only spoke the t***h of course we would find a lot fewer big fish were being caught and talked about and I don't think it would just because a desire for the t***h would makes us all more humble
