1/4 oz to 3/8 jig head w/ paddle tail or curly tail grub.
Mirror lure (sinking edition)
Artificial (plastic) shrimp. Try and match the local shrimp color and general size.
Good luck out there!
One of my problems is access since I fish from the shore but I've gotten some tips from my brother in Brazoria, Texas and from a few people here so I think things should improve. My specialty was catching rainbow trout in the mountain lakes of Southern New Mexico with bait I made myself so the lure thing is something I need to practice.
Check out the 13’ Saturn fishing kayak. We have 2 and love them. They hold up to 550lb w plenty of leg room for you. I rigged up 55lb thrust trolling motors on ours and they are a blast. It’s an inflatable boat so it’s simple to transport and store.
