It was a great day to be a grandpa. It was even a pleasant temperature with no wind.

Is that not the best thing ever, watching the grandbabies reel in their first catch. A friend and I had fish on the TN river all day into the night. (As if this was unusual for us). We had absolutely no luck this day. Then my son brought my grandson out to visit. At the time he was 5 I believe, this child puts a piece of chicken nugget on his hook and within minutes pulls in a decent cat.

Glenn Hodges: Good for you! Give them that fishing exciting experience every chance you have, or make opportunities. Those grandkids will remember that for the rest of their lives and pass them on to future generations. Those stories will be passed down over 100 years and perhaps even more.

I also encourage you to write down stories of your childhood and growing up. Everyone has stoires and when one passes on, their storied die with them. Your grandkids will want to know sometime in thier lives. Dont wait. It is quite easy now with computers, solid state recorders and such. Don't worry about editing, that can be done later. I have personally written two books of my stories for my kids and grandkids. Just Sayin....RJS

Good on all us that take kids out!!!
I never met a kid that gets in trouble with a fishing rod in their hand.

Robert .... Great Idea. I had wanted to do that with my grandparents but never did and now they have passed (about 30 years ago) Now I'm the old one and my kids say the same thing about me

It really was a great day, the weather was beautiful, we caught fish and best of all the grandson caught two nice ones. This little grandson is having some tough times, I'm grateful to give him a really good time.
