Just curious how many of you use your boat covers when towing regardless of the weather. When going up to Lake Ontario I always use it because I’m going to use the boat for several days and cover it each night but if just fishing for the day and garaging it at night, not so much.

I generally cover the boat while trailering for an extended trip
Day trips I take it off and put it back on when I return home.

I never cover the boat while trailering. Just when I get home and put it away. Then I tarp it down.

Never trailer with the cover on. 99%of my trips are day trips.

Covered Only at home not when driving or on water . If I leave it in water at dock overnight I use a cover over the console only.

While trailering across Wisconsin my fishing partner had a cover on his boat and a lit cigarette landed on it and started on fire. I only cover mine when docked at night. 🛶

I cover mine for trips on which I use the freeway. It keeps things from being blown out at high speeds. I have seen lots of bait buckets, throwable cushions, life jackets and cooler lids in the medians and along the road and I don’t want to be one of those guys. The extra 5 minutes it takes is worth the effort.

The only thing I've lost is microfiber "Shut Up And Fish" hand towel. The rest of my stuff is tucked in pretty snugly. 75-80mph, and no problems.

No Steve, homeward is usually slower for several reasons. More traffic on the road, nothing exciting happening there and I'll be talking about my next trip (to someone else's dismay).

I tarp on long trips. Keeps everything in and prying eyes out. Seems to make the boat a little more aerodynamic. I seem to get a little better gas mileage.
