Got it. We have a septic system. Being a city boy most of my life, I'm learning. I never heard the term gray water before. Our washing machine is drained into our yard. It makes sense to use the water for plants. My water just muddies up my yard. I will have to drain it away from a deck, if I can ever get someone to build it.

Hey gh1, have you heard the term french drain? Basically a big hole filled in with sizeable gravel. Let the pipe from the gray water discharge right into the gravel at the top of the hole. Water will filter through the gravel and dissipate through the soli.

Good morning G, and everyone. 37° and foggy with showers here, clearing later, going up near 50°. Had some heavy rain overnight, still have puddles in the yard. Gotta start going thru some tackle today.

Good morning everyone, today it will be 49 and cloudy here but much nicer tomorrow, Hey Gordon, how much pork fat do you add to your sausage, i used to do about 70/30 and that seemed to be just a tad dry but tasty, i didn't want to over do it with the pork.

Morning all. 41 and creeping up to 45. Kinda cloudy but at least it's not snowing. Plum wouldn't it work better if you used your Lincoln Logs instead of the erector set to build the garage.?

I've heard of people using gray water for irrigation, and having grown up with a septic system I know it's a good idea, but this is the first time I heard of a building code for it.

I'll be grinding sausage as soon a I finish breakfast. One batch of breakfast, sage sausage and one batch of Italian. I use a pork shoulder with whatever fat is in it and I agree it sometimes seems to need more fat. Just put a touch of oil in the pan so it doesn't dry out when I fry it.

YES, today is Saturday, Jan 16, 2021. Oz says it is, so it must be. Get up knuckleheads. Got the new car yesterday. It's got so many buttons to do stuff, it will take me months to figure it all out. Working 7 this afternoon/evening. Rain/snow mix. Windy, cold, upper 30s.

A monastery was struggling financially so they go into the fish n' chips business. One night a customer knocks on the door. A monk answers the door. "Are you the fish friar? the man asked. No, I'm the the chip monk?"

Good morning everyone. 28* right now going to 47* later. Spring is on the way? Grey water systems are great things I've always wanted to have one. Saves mass quantities of $$, and water which is a precious commodity and it also helps keep septic systems healthy by not destroying bacteria.
MATH is the only place where a person can buy 64 watermelons and nobody asks why. Have a wonderful day!

No problem. I think I found a cheaper way to drain the water away from the deck(the one I don't have yet) when I need to do it.

Morning peoples,
Went back to sleep after my last post.
Too many people to personally replay back to so I’ll try to catch everyone here.
Plum, it’s basically the same thing except that valves are added to direct the water to where you want it to go otherwise it will be the same as with the gravel pit if you don’t want to water the plants. I’ll do some pictures as they do the work.
YouTube has videos on making use of the gray water.
We use potassium instead of salt, it cost a little more but it’s safer than salt. We buy it at Home Depot.
We live in California, you need a permit for just about everything that you do here.
Have a good one peoples.

We are on a septic system here and I don’t want the water from the washing machine and the water softener slough off going into the septic system.
It’s legal here to use gray water for plants. I want a legal system here instead of my make shift one so when a inspector checks out the house when we sell it everything will be up to code.

Just curious, doesn’t the soap and bleach hurt the plants. For landscaping the grey water system might be ok but I wouldn’t want to water my veggie garden with it. Just saying.
