I've always done real well with wooly buggers. I "troll" with em from my tube. That may seem a bit mundane, but hey, they work real well for stocked trout, it that's what you're going for.

I’m working in Paradise and stopped by a fishing shop and spoke with a guy that had been fishing from shore. He had some nice pic’s from the day before. Big trout on a woolly bugger.
I’ve been drifting the feather on weekends. It’s not bad. Just want to try something different
