Gas just went up 20 cents in the last week.
I fish 2 lakes near my home. If you are 65 or older the fishing is free. The other lake is not charging at all.
Tum—is the grid I see roads? I’ve been in Northern New Hampshire on ice but never saw a grid on ice except for ice hockey competition.
The “grids”are made from the snow shoveled off of the rink area. The darker spaces in between are approx. 8’ wide walkways between the rinks. You can see the piled snow if you enlarge and also the walkways. The walkways look dark cause they are shoveled down to the ice surface and it looks dark because of the water beneath.
Sorry, that’s what these are, multiple rinks set up. Probably a little kid tourney or fundraiser or Park and Rec giving it their all for the community 😊
Figured. I didn’t see any bob houses.
I will attach a picture of the annual Eelpout festival from Leech Lake. Now THAT’s a party! Can’t do it from a reply however so it’ll have to go in a new post. Eelpout Festival

Damn Tum, I guess you get some serious ICE on that lake!
Most lakes this time of year have anywhere from 12”-20”+ of ice but it depends on the lake- currents, depth etc. most of the big lakes will have roads semi plowed for you and follow with ice reports daily. The smaller, home town lakes you can just follow the tracks of everyone else. Helps to know the lake you are on if you want to drive on it. Avoid narrows where there is more current for example as the ice might not be as trustworthy.
