Line usually builds up off center like that because of the knot. Try a layer of ele. tape over the spool after a turn of the reel handle, usually works for me !

Check the pall and worm gear. If it stops and then starts again either one could be worn. It could also be the worm gear has some debris at the edge. Clean the worm gear if it stll does it take the cap off of the pall and put a very thin shim inside it. I use a drink can to make them. Use a hole punch, 1/8or 3/16. You can use the top for thicker shim or rhe sideDor a thiner

Continued ,the side for a thiner shim, depending on how much wear the pall or worm is worn. If you get to thick the pall will drag in the worm. Oil the worm regularly will help keep from wearing. Keep fishing
