Think we have touched on this subject before. I know many of you are still fishing for other types of fish this time of year. I am just starting to get ready for the next pre-spawn and LMB season. I think most of us fish drop shot , flyline, texas righ, C-rig, wacky rig, etc. What brand and size hooks do you folks mostly use? Just thought I might find something new for the coming season.

Well I fish fresh water in NJ ( now in Pa) I would use rubber worm with a 1/0 true turn hook never lost one and the hook up USA usually in the bottom lip

No I've never tried them OBG, I'll have to check them out. Thanks for the tip!

OBG, while checking out the G7 tubes I came across 2 more alternatives to traditional O rings. Check them out.

Holds the hook 90 perpendicular to the worm

Also holds the hook perpendicular, but heavy duty

Thanks

Going to give the first one a try. They come in two sizes (Tackle Warehouse) small and medium. Thinking the small would work on my thin senkos and large for the fatter ones. Not too bad a price...25pk for $4.99 Will get a pack of each. Thanks Fred

I think the hook goes under the saddle between rings, perpendicular to the worm.

I ordered a tool you slip the senko in, kinda looks like an empty ball point pen tube, and it came with 100 O rings and a lanyard on the tool for 5 bucks.

IDK, I'm ashamed to say that I've never used it yet.

Yep they work well. I usually do a full bag of 10 at home so I don't have to mess with it on the boat. Sometimes a bag can last 2-3 trips depending on how many hook ups I get.

Now that's an idea. I think I'll rig a bunch of them up.

I've been using the Trokar hooks. They're super sharp. For Texas rigging a senko I prefer a straight shank, for creature baits an EWG. I match the hook to the size of the bait, 2/0-4/0. I use their drop shot and wacky hooks in #1 and 2, sometimes the weedless wacky if needed.

To be honest with you. All i use is the small 4" Chompers Worms with drop shot in 10 to 20 ft of water and i catch fish all year round.I used outher worms and not as much luck. There is smoething about chompers worms the bass really love.

Have a story about that hook was fishing with a friend and he hooked into a big bass I saw it so I knew it was big well he was playing it right being that there were weeds and we were using light line.he made it close to the bank I was set with the net then pop.the fish was gone reeled in and the hook broke about 3/8 inch from the eye just snapped needless to say he threw all of those hooks in the garbage never bought again
